1970s C.A.S. Vietri Fat Lava Ceramic Pitcher

$275.00

A deeply sculptural ceramic pitcher produced by C.A.S. Vietri in Italy during the 1970s. Finished in a thick volcanic glaze with cratered texture throughout, the surface shifts between cream, mauve, charcoal, and deep brown. The exaggerated handle and irregular form give the piece a distinctly brutalist presence. Produced in Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast, an area long associated with expressive studio ceramics and hand glazed pottery.

Strong enough to stand alone as an object, even without the mugs.

Dimensions

  • 8" Height

  • 10" Width with Handle

  • 7" Opening Diameter

Condition: Consistent with age and use. Chipping present throughout, primarily along the rim and base. The heavily textured glaze softens much of the visible wear and contributes to the overall character of the piece. Sold as found. Final sale.
